A great concert by a great band

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I remember hearing this band first on the radio playing their single Daria, back in 2005 and was immediately hooked on this catchy pop song. I bought their CD 'Flores de Alquiler' and loved most of the songs. In particular Niña, Daria and Rompe el Mar. A nice suprise was the release of the 'Acustico' CD in november that year, containing a beautiful version of the ballad Perdicion. The following year (2006) they released their Grammy winning album 'El Mundo Se Equivoca'. I love this CD. Every single song on it is great. Weird enough was the song I liked most never released on single (Que Fui Para Ti). Most of the songs that were released on single achieved top 10 rankings in charts in US, Spain, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Meanwhile I went to see the band playing in Dallas, Santo Domingo, Miami and Quito and was overwhelmed by the quality of their performances, especially by the voice of Natalia Jimenez. This DVD gives you a good idea about what I mean. The sound is pretty good (though not perfect) and the picture is acceptable. Too bad there is no blu-ray version of it available, but probably the recording was not shoot HD quality.

Here's my verdict on a scale from 1 to 10:

Performance: 9
Sound: 7.5
Picture: 6

Go get this DVD and enjoy it over and over again! And if you have a chance: go see them live. I hope their next CD ('Sin Frenos'), coming in March 2009, will be as good as the previous ones..."
Buy this concert!!

"I love live concerts and I rent all DVDs from my favorites musical acts. Most of the time I'm disappointed, but not this time. You need to run and buy this DVD, the music is fantastic and La Quinta Estación really knows how to play it live. Now, they seemed to be kind of nervous or perhaps overwhelmed at times, but nothing to worry about. My only real criticism is the fact that guitarist Pablo Domínguez kept talking all the time and was sort of like the master of ceremonies at times.
I don't know, but even if it is a band, I think that that front lady Natalia Jiménez should be the voice of the group in every respect. There were times that this beautiful and charismatic woman was just standing there and while Pablo keep yapping all the time. But I heard that he's no longer in the band..., which will be great news then."
