Movie Reviews

THIS DERRINGER IS LOADED AND READY TO FIRE !!
The Critic | Windsor | 12/16/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"A small venue and an even smaller stage create the perfect setting for a Rick Derringer concert. After all these years Rick Derringer proves he can still rock. Live at Cheney Hall is a fantastic show and Rick and his band appear to be having fun on stage. Rick Derringer is an awesome guitar player who seems to get better with age, His guitar playing seems effortless. The video transfer is sharp and the digital 2.0 sound is excellent. My only complaint is the sound of this concert should have been in Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS, but I can overlook it because it's a great show. This is a great effort put out by Rick Derringer and I hope more of his concert DVD's will become available. I have been fortunate to see Rick Derringer play live three times and this DVD helps me relive those memories.

"I'VE SEEN DERRINGER TWICE LATE 70'S WITH AEROSMITH AND BECK AND MORE RECENTLY WITH JOHNNY WINTER AND BOTH SHOWS SMOKED. IT'S GREAT THAT DERRINGER FOUND GOD BUT MOST OF THE TUNES ON THIS DVD ARE PRAISE TUNES WHEN HE DOES START TO PICK AT THE END OF THE DVD HE'S ROCKIN BUT, DOESN'T REALLY CAPTURE THE ESSENCE OF THIS GUITAR SLINGER GREAT CAMERA WORK JUST WISH IT CONTAINED DIFFERENT TUNES. JAMMIN' FOR JESUS LOOKS GOOD ON PAPER BUT MAKES FOR A WEAK DVD."
