Robert Davi reprises his role from #2, as does Z’Dar, but Z’Dar is minimal for the first 2/3 of the movie. By this point, the Maniac Cop has developed into more of a unkillable vigilante. Doctors in high heels working the floor seems pretty unlikely, but then these movies are not about realism. No need to seek this movie out unless you’ve already sunk the costs into #1 and #2. I guess we do actually get confirmation in this film that the Maniac Cop is effectively undead, so that’s worth something. A fun oddity is the ambulance that is actually a hearse. For its time (no CG), there are a lot of fire stunts in this movie. And . . . does the ending make this a romance?
