"I watched Motherland six months after the death of my 19 year old son. I deliberately watched it alone because I knew I would cry. Tears are good, though - they help you get further along this terrible journey of grief. The movie made me long to experience what these ladies had in a trip that offered them healing & companionship from others who had had the same loss. The movie was definitely a healing experience for me. I would recommend it to any mother grieving the loss of a child of any age."
Amazing Movie!

"I watched the movie last night. Wow! I have to admit I was a little scared to watch it, due to the fact that I am a mother and the mere thought of losing my son is unbearable. I could not imagine watching the journey these women went on and not feel the pain.
I was very interested in this film, so last night I took a deep breath and watched it....
Jennifer Steinman did an amazing job. It's absolutely beautiful.... The film is fantastic and the way she captured it made me able to with stand watching the unthinkable. There are moments of both pain and joy. The people and children in South Africa are a joy to listen to, and to see the strength in each of them is very moving.
I have been thinking about it all day today, which shows how much it touched me. These women are so incredibly brave and I will forever hold all of them in my thoughts and prayers.
