You find inspiration in the strangest places...

"...as I never expected to find it here--first off, the music: the only other group I can seem to remotely compare this one to is Alice Cooper when it was a group before it turned into a solo vehicle for Vincent Furnier to espouse his Christian morality tales (I'm talking about the orginal members, in their glory, from the "Love It To Death" to the "Muscle Of Love" period, Turbonegro's lead singer has even co-opted Alice's eye makeup!)--the members of Turbonegro has classified their music as deathpunk, but you can forget that, this music is full of life and seems to me to be preoccupied with sexual deviancy, not that there's anything wrong with that! Now, my disappointments, about which caused me to subtract a star: first, I was led to believe from other web sites and reviews that there would be some promo videos included, which there weren't, altho there is an hour-long documentary about the group's comeback in 2003 after breaking up in 1998, then an hour or so long concert from the start of their comeback tour, two different and individual concert videos and two short films; second, the documentary removes a lot of the mystique surrounding the band, so be forewarned--however, where I got my inspiration from was the documentary itself, so without giving anything away, I'll say that the film concerns what happened after the lead singer had his drug-induced meltdown and how he found the strength and support from his band members and family to return to what he loved, which is playing some hard-core rock and roll; I'll tell you, after watching countless "Behind The Music"'s where bands with lesser spirit and plain old guts blew apart and never spoke to each other again, this film is a literal revelation--as far as I'm concerned after watching this documentary (which includes two complete concert performances), this is a downright revelation and could act as a learning experience for rock bands starting out--so, although I didn't get my precious MTV videos, I ended up getting a whole lot more..."
One Of The Best Rock N Roll Bands

"Review by Ray Harkins:

No hype at all would do Turbonegro justice. This band is one of the best rock and roll bands to exist today and will go down in the punk rock history books as a pioneer of "death-punk", a term that they have coined and perfected.

This DVD chronicles their return to glory as the band broke up shortly after 2000, but then ResErected themselves in 2002 after many pleading fans on a worldwide basis. Basically this is chock full of information, behind the scenes, the bands mentality (we will give you 50%, maybe 60%), and live footage that you can shake a stick at.

This is one of the best DVD's out there right now for fans and new listeners alike. It will give you a glimpse into the massive world that is Turbonegro."
