Here's an enjoyably bizarre holiday horror flick. This Dutch import is kinda like the European flipside of "Silent Night, Deadly Night." Shortly before Christmas, Amsterdam comes under siege by Saint Nicholas, a homicidal, child-stealing spirit who's not nearly as jolly as his American counterpart (Santa Claus). It's up to a disgraced cop and a college kid to stop him before he massacres the entire city (yikes!).

WAY more action packed and mean-spirited than the similarly-themed "Rare Exports," this one features lots of improbable action violence and some truly gross gore, so horror fans should be pleased.

Be warned: the English language version of this film is one of the worst dubbing jobs I've seen/heard since the glory days of Italian exploitation flicks in the '70s/80s. The stilted, awkward English dialogue adds a whole 'nother level of weirdness to a very strange flick.
