I love my Salsa Crazy 3-pack!

"This is the best 3-disc dance set ever. Why? Because of how the lessons are structured. You know the saying you have to crawl before you walk? Well, that's what this series does.

DVD 1, you're crawling. You'll learn the basic step and counting and how to turn to the left and the right by yourself. You'll learn a teeny bit about stance and posture too. Then you start getting into some key dances that eventually you'll mix together to do choreographed routines. Sound good? It is.

DVD 2, you're walking, and just like a kid you will trip yourself up at times because guess what, the lessons gets harder. Whereas on the first DVD you could get away with half doing the dances and still know what the moves are supposed to be you cannot half a** it with this one. You have to commit to the movements and start getting into the feel of the beat.

DVD 3, you're jogging. Endurance is a good thing as the music is faster, the time between instruction and your chance to get the dance down is shorter and basically you're expected to know what you're doing by now. You can't fake doing the moves because most of the dances taught at this point really have to be done with a partner. If you don't commit to the move, you will end up off beat and your partner will not be able to follow / lead you.

As long as you're committed to learning and practicing you will be successful with the series and you will learn to Salsa."
Show off your flavor and style

"If your idea of dancing is a one, two chip step and an occasional dip, then it's time for a different type of Salsa in your life. A fusion of African, Cuban and Latin American rhythms, the word means "flavor" or "style", and unlike the "show-off" dancing that takes over the whole dance floor, this dance form occupies a smaller fixed area, retaining the intimacy of the dance while making it quite obvious that you know what you're doing.

Salsa utilizes an eight beat pattern, two bars of four beats, with three steps and a skipped beat in each bar. The skipped beat is often used for something fancy like a toe tap or kick. Salsa can be danced solo or with a partner, but you'd better learn both, because once you start strutting your stuff on the dance floor you're sure to get a lot of willing partners.

If you're serious about kicking your dance life up a notch, and have a partner that doesn't have two left feet, this Beginners three-pack is recommended for you. If you just want to taste before buying, you should rent or borrow Volume One, which is available separately, but for the whole experience, this three DVD package is the most convenient.

The instructors make it easy by first demonstrating the steps slowly, one movement at a time, and then repeating the figures over and over to give you enough time to get the idea. This means that you don't have to stop dancing and replay the section continuously, even though you still need to practice afterwards. The steps are eye-catching, and can be used in the formal ballroom dance arena as well as casually at a clubs, parties and even in your living room. For people who have previous experience with this dance form, the instructors offer up lots of tips and secrets, and even if you already dance like a star you can learn something from this series. (I showed this one to a highly experienced and qualified dance instructor, and even she was duly impressed.)

If you're ready to put some spice in your dance life, it's Salsa time!!!

It Works

"Everything you need to know to get you Salsa dancing and to look like you know what you're doing is included in the Learn to Dance Salsa Beginner's 3-pack. The first DVD breaks you in quick and fast...well, not fast but there is a lot of information taught. The instructors actually go pretty slow, explaining everything in detail--from counts for Salsa to how to do a simple left turn--before they do the move. After that, they will go through the movement multiple times so that you can get some practice in on each.

The second DVD in the series continues the lessons from DVD 1 but as one should expect. The difference is that you and your partner will get more into dancing with one another. (The first DVD, though it does teach dance moves for both the leader and the follower, doesn't really require a partner though if you really want to get a feel for Salsa dancing it's a good thing to have.) Together, you and your partner will practice another set of turns and you two will learn the cross body lead, a hand check and a bunch of other moves I could rile off but you probably wouldn't know what he heck I was talking about anyway so I'll spare you. The third DVD, my favorite, has a lot to offer too. There are some new dance moves taught as well as some more complex variations on dance moves you were taught in DVD 2.

I should also mention that all of the DVDs do have some special features on them; Things like Salsa history and Salsa etiquette. All of the DVDs are also formatted in chapters so it makes it really easy to go back to a particular lesson / dance move that you need to work more on or to pick up a lesson where you left off."
From a Bumbling Wannabe to a Salsa Dancer

"I decided to purchase the beginner's 3-pack after watching my friends salsa dance at a wedding last summer. It looked like so much fun, but standing off to the side because I didn't know how was less fun.

After going through the three DVDs, I can proudly say that my days as a wallflower are over!

I was worried about having a complete lack of knowledge about salsa dance, but the first DVD in the set starts with the very basics. I learned basic steps, how to keep with the rhythm of the music, and how to carry myself. The first DVD also included some very basic moves and dances to practice the basics with.

By the time I'd graduated to the second DVD, I was dancing! It was difficult at first, but I discovered just how fun the dancing was, so with practice and tips from the instructor, I could feel myself becoming much more confident with my dance moves. The instructor was there every step of the way, and I found that watching and listening really did make a difference in my ability to "get it."

The third DVD was almost like a dress rehearsal. It was basically the same music and same dances I'd be doing in public, except that I was in the safety of my living room. By the time I'd gotten to this point and had mastered the dances and rhythms on the final DVD, I felt completely confident in stepping out onto the dance floor to shock my friends!

Let me finish this by saying that I am not a skilled dancer by any means! I don't have a background in dancing at all, but this DVD set was easy to follow and fun to use, even for someone with absolutely no dancing knowledge whatsoever! I highly recommend it!"
