Movie Reviews

It's A Great Movie But This DVD Only Shows It In An Edited P

"Shrek is great movie especially when it's shown in widescreen! This DVD set only has the pan & scan version and not the widescreen version and the 3D movie is just a short movie from a ride at Universal Studios that is only about 15 or 16 minutes and if you are looking for the widescreen version of Shrek you will be disappointed and you would be better off buying the DVD set that has Shrek in both widescreen and pan & scan and also a 3D movie seen on a regular TV will not work like it does in a theater that uses special equipment and special effects so 3D glasses with a TV set will not cut it!"
Bridging the Gap.

"This 2-DVD set includes both SHREK and a 16-minute short entitled SHREK 3-D. SHREK has been written about enough before, so there's really no point in saying more here. Besides, just about everyone who will be buying this item will be buying it for SHREK 3-D anyway. SHREK 3-D is a short animated segment that takes place right after SHREK. It bridges part of the gap between SHREK and SHREK 2. Shrek and Fiona are preparing to leave on their honeymoon, but before they can get very far Fiona is kidnapped. Shrek and Donkey race off to rescue her and are led into a creepy cemetery where they find the "gravestone" of Lord Farquad. Turns out Farquad is just a big of conniver as a dead ghost as he was alive. He's led Shrek and Donkey there to meet their doom while he also kills Fiona by throwing her over a waterfall so that she will be his queen in the underworld. The short doesn't add much to the Shrek series (though it does show how Farquad is eliminated for good), but it is entertaining.

SHREK 3-D comes with a set of 3-D glasses, but the short can be watched as a normal cartoon as well. The short is actually a ride at Universal studios, but even before that the events of this little cartoon where distributed on a promo cd a year and a half before SHREK 2 was released.

Overall, this is a good deal for one's money. You get the original SHREK as well as the bonus DVD of SHREK 3-D. Now, go make some waffles."
