Movie Reviews

A very good show

"I think this performance is just fine, but I guess Double Dead Redux is the way to go, must check that out as well.

The crowd looks alive enough, they're on fire when TNT goes off, and it's hard to move a sea of people anyway. When you're playing to thousands or tens of thousands, they can't all be expected to move anyway.

Chris Barnes has found a place somewhere between mastering death metal grunts and adding a "harsher" hardcore-like vocal style to it, but overall he has a very deep and commanding voice, and tops it off with a few awkward squeals here and there. It resonates really well, that's what I love about it. It's impressive.

If the band should be praised for anything, it's actually keeping the tempo down for a change - not all concerts have to be 300bpm for 90 minutes, and it makes the faster songs stand out more.

This isn't a long or very remarkable show, but I watched it before buying and really liked it. I recommend a look before purchase."
This was my fault. I thought it had to do with the SFU tv s

"id been holding off on buying this DVD but last night i said screw it and finally got it. i was pretty dissapointed in this DVD. first off, its filmed at a huge festival show. so it has that festival feel, distant and detached from the crowd. there is no atmosphere or connection with the fans in this one at all. Double Dead was filmed at a small club show. with a very atmospheric light show and fans jumping on and off the stage like crazy. another thing i didnt like was the setlist. since its a new SFU DVD maybe they'd have more than 2 tracks from the new album that came out a year ago. cool to see TNT live tho. by the way, number 10, isnt Bringer Of Blood. its Bringer Des Blutes (this was filmed in germany). the editing in the first song gets a little tiresome but they slow it down alot thru the other songs. another thing that bugs me is the amount of MISTAKES they make. during The Day The Dead Walked theres a HUGE mistake. im suprised they recovered from and theres a couple other parts where theyre off. but the picture and sound quality are great. they barely show the guitar player tho. man, Chris Barnes says some stupid crap on stage.
on to the audio disc. the first 5 songs are taken right from the concert. which is strange to me. why not the whole set? i guess because of the mistakes. none of the songs they made big mistakes on are on here (for more mistakes check out the Double Dead audio CD, taken from a different concert than the Double Dead DVD). i usually hate live recordings but i must say that this is one of the best quality live recordings i have ever heard. a BIG reason why i finally bought this DVD was because of the brand new studio track Dead And Buried. but, it blows. the vocals are HORRIBLE. the worst Six Feet Under vocals i have ever heard. i dont know what they were thinking when they released this. didnt anyone listen to it before they put it out? it sounds like Barnes did the vocals over the phone or something. they even made a video for this song. which is not included on the DVD but you can view here http://66.221.41.136/deadburied.htm . it was 11 bucks where i bought it so i dont think i got ripped off. but if youre looking for a better SFU expirience, get Double Dead. all yorue missing is TNT, Bringer Des Blutes, Amerika The Brutal (which sucks anyway), and Suffering In Extacy. but the Double Dead set is a full set. much better selection of songs. i reccomend that one over this one any day of the week. oh and stay away from Graveyard Classics 2."
