Young Han Solo finds adventure when he joins forces with a gang of galactic smugglers and a 190-year-old Wookie named Chewbacca. Indebted to the gangster Dryden Vos, the crew devises a daring plan to travel to the mining planet Kessel to steal a batch of valuable coaxium. In need of a fast ship, Solo meets Lando Calrissian, the suave owner of the perfect vessel for the dangerous mission -- the Millennium Falcon.

Heard and saw bad reviews for Solo but a must to watch since we are Star Wars fans! Thought the Solo actor did well BUT the Lando character was a complete mismatch and Disney flopped on this one. The initial plotline was weak and then became better but NEVER matched the solid Lucas plotlines in the past. Thanks Disney for working fast profits verses solid Star Wars movies! That being said, we will not be adding this Solo movie to my collection. The CGI was pretty spectacular but part of the ending was pretty unbelievable as was the Chewy/Solo fight scene.

Didn't know this beforehand...evidently Solo is the most expensive Star Wars movie to date...250 Million. Some great shots in this one! I thought it was an enjoyable constant stream of action. The characterization did seem a bit flat. Visually, the movie was very dark in color palette. I appreciated how certain elements of the animated series were brought in and are being treated as canon. I think the ones making the movies could take some tips from Star Wars: Rebels, which has been great.
