Movie Reviews

Indoor walking workout.
Fitness Lover "Lynn" | Southeastern USA | 11/30/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is an indoor walking workout DVD led by fitness instructor Tamilee Webb. The setting is an indoor studio on a hardwood floor. She has four other ladies exercising with her and beginner modifications are shown by two of them throughout the workout.

The workout consists of three fifteen minute miles. On the menu you can choose to do one mile, two miles, all three miles, or each individual mile.

The first mile consists of learning the walking footwork sequences with only pumping of the arms. The sequences consist of walking in place, forward and back, V steps, side to side steps, walking side to side, etc.

The second mile consists of the same basic walking footwork we learned in the first mile, but arm movements are added which makes it just a bit more tricky though not too difficult to learn. One of the other girls in the background continues to do the footwork without the arm movements for modification throughout this mile.

The third mile consists of the same basic walking footwork we did in the first two miles but optional 1 to 2 pound hand weights/dumbbells are added. In addition to the same basic footwork, she also adds a few new steps in this mile such as knee lifts with the forward and back and walking in a circle. The arm movements are different in this mile and consist of bicep curls, upright rows, etc, to work the upper body as we walk. One of the other girls in the background does the arm movements without weights for modification and another continues to just do the footwork without any arm movements at all (other than pumping the arms) for even more modification.

The cool down is approximately 5 minutes and consists of marching in place followed by stretching.

Though not a difficult workout for the intermediate or advanced exerciser, it is a bit more choreographed and tricky to learn than a Leslie Sansone, Debbie Rocker, or Stott Pilates walking DVD which are all very basic workouts. I enjoy walking workouts so this will definitely get some use in my rotation."
Excellent for the beginner!

"This DVD is excellent for the beginner. Tamilee Webb takes you step by step on walking in your home. She articulates very well; very easy to follow the steps with her. This dvd starts out slow and gradually builds to step #3 where she incorporates some toning moves into the walking. This is too easy for the intermediate or advanced exerciser. However, I believe this is a very useful tool for days when you want to take it a little slower. The steps are in 15 minute segments which is very nice if you are short on time. I highly recommend it."
Good for light workouts

"Somedays I need to workout but I am tired or too sore. This is perfect for those days. You get a great workout without beating up yourself. Good for beginners as well as advanced who need a something for light day."
