After more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. Training a detachment of graduates for a special assignment, Maverick must confront the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who choose to fly it.

Mr. Cruise one upped the Maverick sequel in plotline and action scores. A must watch especially for Top Gunners!

Just saw this and was very impressed with the action and the acting. It was esciting and a real thrill ride all the way through, just like the original film. They goofed one thing pretty badly though. In the Navy an O-3 (two-bars) is a Lieutenant, not a Captain. In the Navy a Captain is the same rank as a Colonel in the other armed forces (O-6). Throughout the film they call all the pilots Captains, when in fact they are Lieutenants. I guess that won't bother most people, but it's a pretty big thing to get wrong.
