Movie Reviews

Too short, but you'll want this if you're a big JAM fan
T. Scarillo | Studio City, CA | 12/07/2008
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I ordered this, not even being quite sure of what it is - turns out it's part of a concert of theirs from 3/21/82 (i guess what ended up being their final tour, behind "The Gift"?). First off, I don't think i've seen this footage - it wasn't on the Complete Jam DVD, from what i recall. My main complaint is that it's only 30 minutes long - because the performances are really energetic and quite good - pretty tight performance (Weller/Foxton/Buckler plus horn players). Picture quality is ok - given source/tech limitations of the master tape (was shot on video-tape). Sound is quite good (i listened in 2.0 straight stereo; pkg says you can listen in 5.1 'simulated' but i didn't). This is proof (albeit only 30 min) of how great these guys were. So if you're really into the Jam, and have everything else, you might want to pop for this, though it's a bit pricey for what you get. Get the Complete Jam DVD, if you don't already own it, for sure - it's value for money.
