Don't expect much from the transfers on this set. VCI released this in a limited pressing and it has become a much sought after item among collectors. Most of the transfers here appear to be a carryover from the VHS days.
The VHS masters were enhanced very slightly and has washed out color and soft as far as sharpness goes. The 4x3 VHS master has been cropped and blown up to a fake 16x9 widescreen presentation on most of the movies here.
The good news is that the films on this collection are somewhat rare to the DVD market. Films like ALICE SWEET ALICE, TWILIGHT PEOPLE, DON'T OPEN THE DOOR, BEAST OF THE YELLOW NIGHT and 8 other titles have long been extinct on VHS and some are still currently unreleased on digitally remastered pristine quality DVD or BD.
For me, the downgrade is quality is a plus because watching these movies in this format reminds me of the way I first saw these films at the drive-in many eons ago (LOL). So, if you're into that whole drive-in thing, and you can find this set without paying a gazillion $$$, then you will love the way these films are presented here.
