Very good acting and very strong beginning and middle but stalled 3/4 into it but took back off for a twist and turn ending. I liked the ended but they could have gone further with it. I was never in a band but I like music and this was very entertaining but NOT for the weak at heart. The language and violence was a bit much at times.

Just about a perfect movie, asking where the line is between pushing people to achieve excellence and abuse. JK Simmons is wonderfully deserving of his Best Supporting Actor Oscar as the tyrannical music teacher Terence Fletcher. Miles Teller has never been better as the young protege who Fletcher may or may not think can be a great musician. Writer/Director Damien Chazelle shows terrific promise in this second feature film.
