Movie Reviews

Excellent yoga program for those of us with respiratory/lung
Ms. Mary S. Massung | San Marcos, Texas | 04/03/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Although I have purchased many books and dvds through Amazon, I review very few. I hesitated to purchase this dvd for some time as there were no reviews to indicate its quality. However, since I have Pulmonary Fibrosis, I finally 'bit the bullet' and ordered it. I LOVE IT!

This program has 6 sections. Below is a list.
1. Asanas to open the bottom chest.....(eg camel)
2. Asanas to open the middle chest....(eg fish)
3. Asanas to open the upper chest.
4. Asanas to increase efficiency of breathing in the entire chest.
5. Breathing to improve cardio-respiratory function.
6. Shavasana

In each section, you are guided into the variations of the asana for the particular section of the chest and told how to breathe while in the pose (for the purpose of opening up the specific area of the chest).

I would say that I am an advanced beginner in yoga. I would not be able to do the full asanas (for some) but could do them with modifications or using props.

While this dvd could benefit anyone, it is particularly beneficial for those of us with respiratory disease/injuries.

This dvd was well worth the money I spent. I am only sorry I did not purchase it sooner!
