Movie Reviews

A Whale Of a Tale!
Rockgirl | Likin Park | 10/22/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This DVD is so cool! Now you have all of your favorites scenes compacted into this convient DVD! And of all the best T.V. shows its YUGIOH! I myselfused to despise YUGIOH but now I love it! This one is great too! In here it shows some of YUGIOH's must challenging duels before he went into the castle! This is also great for another reason. Now instead of having to wait for next week or tomorrow for the next exciting episode you catch watch thase when you choose! A MUST HAVE FOR SERIOUS AND NOT SERIOUS DUELERS ALIKE! AND ITS GREAT!"
Others have to harshly critized this volume

"To quote from the reverse side of the case

" Episode 7 ATTACK FROM THE DEEP. The fisherman duelist MAKO, the master duelist of the SEA DECK, baits YUGI into a duel on his own Sea playing field for a home field advantage. Can Yugi adapt to these new settings to turn the tide of battle?

EPISODE 8 EVERYTHING'S RELATIVE. If Yugi is eliminated from the tournament, Kaiba corporation's crooked Board Of Directors will transfer control of the company from Kaiba to ( Maximillion)Pegasus! Kaiba's younger brother, Mokuba, challenges (after stealing another duelist deck and stars)Yugi to a duel not only to protect his brother's company'but to regain their (family's) honor! Is PEGASUS successfully manipulating possible against each other?

EPISODE 9 DUEL WITH A GHOUL. Yugimust duel a magical doppelaganer (anti-Kaiba) created from the greed and power lust Yugi wiped from KAIBA's soul; but with his best cards resting at the bottom of the ocean ( see INTO THE HORNETS NEST). YUGI must discover a new strategy if he's to survive fake KAIBA's powerful BLUE-EUES WHITE DRAGON."

First off I respectfully disagree with the harsh and critical reviews others have left about these three episode's. In ATTACK FROM THE DEEP, Yugi has a more benevolent and honorable opponent in Mako; which I found more refreshing than the malevolent duelist in past episodes. Yes there are flashbacks to THE HEART OF THE CARDS but there is a deepening plot developing in # 8 & 9 as Kaiba flees his corporate headquarters and seeks refuse in a secret underground control room to fight off the hostile takeover of his company by Pegusus. To bad the other reviewers are unable to appreciate this developing story. To follow the continueing storeline it is necessary to view this DVD."
