Pretty good collection of Christian Ferras

"Having first been introduced to Christian Ferras' artistry in the EMI "Classic Archive" series, I picked up this DVD with little hesitation. I was not disappointed. Christian Ferras is a joy to watch, and it is still perplexing to me as to why he is not so well known in the US.
The range of pieces is wide, from staples such as the Mendelssohn Concerto to more challenging (for the listener, that is) pieces such as the Bartok Sonata No.2.
Overall, a very solid DVD. Why the four stars then? Because this DVD is not as slick or as well presented, and the re-mastering not as well done as the EMI DVD. Thus, on its own, this product would rate five stars. However, if I were to buy only one Christian Ferras DVD, I would choose the EMI version."
