2011 British film. 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Some scifi alumni here: Boyega (a serious and smart actor) in his first role, who would go on as Finn in Star Wars; and, of course, Whittaker, who would go on as the thirteenth Doctor in Doctor Who. Attack the block is Scifi comedy, along with a bit of social commentary, genre mash-up, and really, is a blast from start to finish. Sort of like a modern day version of The Goonies and an alien Shaun of the Dead. Some heavy cockney accents here, so subtitles might be handy; then again young kids seem to have a language all their own regardless of what country they live in. Soundtrack is loaded with energy.
