"With a wonderful cast, beautiful sets, obviously a lot of money spent -- why is this movie so bad? First of all, the story is really very weak. But the main problem is James Spader's immitation of what would happen if you put Jack Lemon and Woody Allen in the blender on high speed. Spader is a good and engaging actor, but his work in this movie is so far over the top that it ruins the whole thing -- for me, at least. Whether this performance was his choice or the product of the director's mis-direction, it was a mistake. Everyone in the movie is talented, accomplished and totally wasted. I don't recommend this movie, unless you like beautiful sets. I haven't seen Warm Blooded Killers, so I have no comment about that."
