Galaxy of Terror has its fair share of stop-motion animation and people in rubber suits, but the special effects are better than many Corman productions. This may be due to James Cameron being involved - yes that James Cameron. The hand-picked team sent on the rescue mission contains some of the most useless, unstable, and poor-judgement soldiers(?) around, but since this movie is basically a slasher flick with influences from Alien and Battlestar Galactica, - we should expect people to do stupid things like going it alone when something is killing people one by one. Those who remember Happy Days will probably have a difficult time seeing Joanie Cunningham as a psionicist, but it's not her fault she was type cast. This movie is also notable for an early appearance of Robert Englund before he was made famous as Freddy Krueger - Englund acts well, perhaps the best of the cast.
