Who could resist Daniel Radcliffe's wide-eyed, face stretching grin? He is absolutely adorable! Being a ginger myself, I loved discovering the best ginger/wizard family: the Weasleys. This is a wonderful introduction to the series, warm-hearted and terrific fun!

Why would anyone want their child to attend this school? Magic can't lower insurance premiums.

Allowing the movie to stand apart from the book, the story line was decent. The visual effects are terrible - at this point for me it is hard to tell if it is just because it is so old or if it were always so bad. The Harry Potter movies get visually more stunning, some are clearly better than others. If you consider it paired to the book it is more accurate than many of the other films.
Not my favorite HP movie, but definitely not the worst. I give this movie a resounding "meh."
