Movie Reviews

Great show/poor DVD quality

"This DVD is a must for all die-hard Naz fans, because the performance of this 6-piece incarnation of Nazareth is outstanding. Some video pieces and road documentaries are also interesting. But the quality of DVD is beneath criticism. Well, the sound is, let's say, satisfactory, but the video is very bad - it's dark with faded colours. So now you are warned!"
Essential for Nazareth Fans but a warning!!!!!!!

"This is a dvd that every fan of Nazareth major or minor should own. Live in Texas is not totally a live concert performance, it is more of a concert/tour documentary w/ some video commentary on the politics (cold war) of the early 80's...very similiar to Jethro Tull's Slipstream (may even be the same director). Video clip stories are shot for some of the songs (kids playing games in the night) and is intercut w/ the live performance.....as is the tour/travel/backstage footage...overall really great...I usually can't stand when concert dvds are done this way but this is more of a well thought out movie/art piece...Anyway, the live footage is KILLER!!!! 6 piece band full sound, energetic performance....great set list. Sound and picture are excellent (shot in '81 so be warned!). Also the dvd come as a flip w/ NTSC/Pal on each side....Go for it!"
