The Rock was a subdued Rock including acting. Just went along as the story unfolded. No real plot. Wahlburg's character felt STUCK in life and through an evangelist decided he needed to be a "DOER." The movie was pretty much about him "doing" by enlisting two cohorts to take a successful Tony Schaloub's money away from him in whatever sleazy way possible.

I expected "Pain & Gain" to be more about the industry of body building because of the title. Especially after reading about the Rock's and Wahlberg's diet and regimen to bulk up. It seems to me that the movie could have taken place in almost any setting. In the end I was disappointed.
