Movie Reviews

Peacemaker Vol. 5
T. Kuman | 08/26/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Once again, I am dissapointed (though not surprised) that this disc has only 3 episodes. It does, however, have some good (though short) action scenes. (some SPOILERS ahead)

Volume 5 starts with the weakest sidestory and thankfully ends it. The fallen lord and his "magician" meet their end at last. The concept of having an Okita look alike was interesting for a while, but people mistaking him for the real Okita was just not plausible. The third episode on this disc was the highlight for me. The scene with Susumu and Tetsunosuke arguing was well done and I was happy to learn more of Yoshida's intentions. It did have a bit of a sad ending however, and leaves you with a bit of a cliffhanger.

The animation dissapointed me, though. The rain didn't look great either, but still gave a good atmosphere. As a bonus, the fold-out packet in the case had some good extras and artwork.

If you're still with the series, buy this DVD. Though it is one of the weakest so far, it still has some good things to offer."
