Alcat | Los Angeles, California | 06/09/2006 (4 out of 5 stars) ""A red bear" is an interesting Argentinian film directed by Adrián Caetano. The main character is a man nicknamed "Bear" (Julio Chávez) who is determined to recover his life. That could mean many things, but in this instance it means that "Bear" participated in a butched robbery, and went to jail for seven years. During that time, his wife Natalia (Soledad Villamil) started a relationship with another man, Sergio (Luis Machín). What is more, his daughter Alicia (Agostina Lage) has grown without him, and looks up to Sergio as a substitute dad. What will "Bear" do? Does he have any possibility of getting his family back? And would that be a good thing for them? A secondary plot is "Bear"'s objective of recovering some money that a man named "Turk" owes him. However, that will not be easy. Moreover, and due to the fact that "Turk" is very involved in criminal activities, meeting him will expose "Bear" to being sent to jail again. On the whole, I really liked this movie, and I can recommend it to you. It is not perfect, but it is more than good enough to engage the spectator, and has the advantage of having a very good cast.
