The acting isn't Academy quality but the soundtrack and the storyline more than make up for it. Rigoletto is set in a small town, where everybody knows everybody else. When a stranger moves into to town, rumors spread like wildfire. Properties are being bought out from under families, some are being evicted and nobody knows who the culprit really is. Meanwhile, a deformed Mr. Ribaldi teaches Bonnie to sing and the neighborhood children learn that ugliness is not always on the outside and beauty can be found within. However, the adults do not learn this lesson and violently kills Mr. Ribaldi. The scene isn't displayed on screen, but children will get the idea and may become upset.
