Member Movie ReviewsReviewed on 12/10/2009... This is an excellent, family friendly movie about four friends who decide to go on a white water trip together after many years. They bring some new friends on this trip with them. The movie will make you laugh, think about life and dealing with all the difficulties that life can bring. I think all would enjoy this movie.
Movie ReviewsGreat Movie K. Sheridan | New Jersey | 07/21/2006 (4 out of 5 stars) "Sure, no swearing, no nudity, no sex...how nice! There is enough of that out there. This is a touching story, nicely told with beautiful scenery and lots of light hearted humor. It's nice to enjoy the ride without all the usual Hollywood type garbage. Highly recommended for family viewing." Great lessons to be learned. Loved it!!! MotherLodeBeth | Sierras of California | 07/20/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Lovely group of actors who could be in many a circle of modern day friendships that have lasted years. Different characters each with an interesting past and present and like all to many people, not always as honest with oneself as one should be, preferring instead to put fears, disappointments, in the back of ones mind. Then they come back to the front in the most interesting of ways. Like the young husband whose in laws think he's a loser who as never done much in his life, yet is loved deeply by his wife who knows there is something profoundly special about him. Which comes to the surface while on the rafting trip. He risked his life to save a green horn years earlier. Yet never spoke of it. A family member along for this rafting trip is exposed to this truth and it changes how he thinks of the man. A young father whose daughter was born disabled and will die. Faced with the sadness yet being in a world where he is supposed to grin and bear it, it is amongst friends who ask hard questions and allows him to cry and speak of what a gift his angel with the broken wing really has been. The perfectionist father who has never been honest enough to admit he isn't as good as he thinks and in the process has left his wife and son, but is brought together with the son and ex wife on this trip, where after harping on the kid for days and discovering its his ex and the son who have been the bravest and best. She cant swim, the kid can and risks it all to get to her, when the raft they are in flips and gets drug under. The young lawyer and the woman he is seeing. He the sarcastic boob who is on everyone's case with nothing much nice to say, yet she hangs in there and he sees just how horrid a person he really is and what a gem he as in her. The happy couple, her the chubby one and him the easy going decent guy, who act as an anchor for the whole group. The young man who seems to be stuck with the porta potty job, who is befriended by another person and comes to see he's really a special man who also needs to stand up for himself. The river scenery is outstanding and in reading the credits it seems to have been filmed on Idaho. Who ever did the river filming and editing did a great job. Makes one miss the river if one has ever been on real white water. And enough authentic information is in the dialogue to make the movie authentic as well. Great lessons to be learned watching this movie IF one is open to them." Great family movie J.
