This is a complicated storyline set in the wild west, a horror film written and directed by Sam Shepperd. A snake oil hawker sells his half breed daughter to Richard Harris's character as a wife to his son. When the woman dies in childbirth, the inconsolable son goes crazy with grief. He stays near her corpse day and night. The man goes in search of the snake oil hawker to purchase a second daughter for his grief stricken son; and ends up kidnapping her. The ghost of the wife is threatening and scary--wanting to be released. The film has an all-star cast featuring Richard Harris, River Phoenix, Shiela Tousey, Dermot Mulroney and Tantoo Cardinal as Silent Tongue. This was River Phoenix's last movie. This is one I recommend watching, and is a keeper.
