Movie Reviews

Heartbreaking
Mor'Loki | The Asylum, Middle of Nowhere | 04/19/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"this dvd was so sad. i was used to the usual [bad] antics of carrot, the beatings of the misu sisters, and the usual commentary by marron and gateau. this was completely different. i started to hyperventilate at the end of episode 24 (i'm a big marron fan), i was sobbing hysterically at the end of 25 (dota's screaming was what did me in along with big mamu), and i needed to watch the 3rd oav again after i finished watching it just so i would calm down. i was glad to see tira and chocolat in their manga outfits and i was praying for an actual battle scene between tira, chocolat, marron, and gateau against zaha torte when they returned, but hey. it was a sweet ending. i was crying my eyes out. this dvd is NOT for the faint at heart, nor those who're effected by some dramatic imagery. but if you're a big fan of bakuretsu hunter, this is for you. once again, lemme warn you about the really angsty themes. especially for marron fans (and the other hunters for that matter, but definetly marron). buy it anyway. it's great! and can anybody confirm what those buildings were in the background at the VERY VERY end of episode 26? it looked like the twin towers and the chrysler building. were the hunters reborn in new york? enough jabbering. buy it!"
Sorcerer Hunters: Magical Desires...AWESOME

"Keeping in line with the typical Sorcerer Hunters humor and actions, this dvd has 7 episodes of non stup laughter and action. For those of you who don't know, Sorcerer Hunters is a group of 5 people who hunt down evil sorcerers who are using forbidden magic to have their way with the helpless people who cannot defend themselves against the sorcerers. The Hunters are constantly going through their misadventures using their powers to help defend the helpless and bring justice to the lands. Typical jokes: Carrot Glase always chasing after the next pretty girl he sees, Chocolate and her sister are always after Carrot, Carrot's younger brother always embarrased by his brother's behavior. There are some skimpy outfits and a sexual jokes, but no actual nudity (not in this dvd). It's just a lot of fun, fast-paced, humorous, and action filled."
BIG surprise

"I am an anime DVD collector with over 250 anime DVDs to date. I bought the Sorcerer Hunters DVDs for this series without high expectations. I never heard of the series before, but since I love fantasy, I decided to try it out. The first few episodes were OK. They reminded me of the Slayers series (which I got bored with midway through the series). However, the disconnected comic episodes soon developed a running storyline that was both original and compelling. Characters began to be more developed and my interest grew. I ended watching the last two DVDs in one sitting and was sad when it ended. The last episode, though, was sure a blast, expecially Chocolate's new outfit! Also, great music! Along with Escaflowne and Record of Lodoss War - Chronicles of the Heroic Knight, Sorcerer Hunters is on my list of the best fantasy anime of all time."
