"Yuridia Gaxiola, second place of the reality show, La Academia, has broken all record sells for a new artist in M?xico, with her CD "La Voz de un Angel." This DVD shows her evolution through 22 presentations in about four months that the show lasted. We can see her shy and insecure during her performance of "Lento," a Julieta Venegas' song. But even then, this first video shows her charisma and magnetism that added to an excellent voice makes difficult to take our eyes off of her. In concert number 6, Yuridia sings "?mame" a Juan Carlos Calder?n's song for which she receives the warmest comments from the critics. Of course, "Angel," a Robin Williams' song that has a touch of gospel music, is very difficult not to like since the first time that is heard. This song, eventually, will become her trade mark performance. The video shows how people, literally, jump from their seats at the end of the song. Somebody, unfamiliar with the mechanics of La Academia, will find inexplicable things. For example, Yuridia sings "Lo Siento Mi Amor" with tears on her face. The answer is that seconds before, by surprise, Yuridia receives her little brothers' visit for whom she hasn't seen for months. Not all is always perfect. Because of the format of the show -the participants are isolated for months in a house- Yuridia sometimes is distracted, forgets the lyrics a couple of times, and, in other time definitely she seems a little bored. But when the perfect combination of her voice and the right song get together, it is so difficult don't get excited. Check, for example, "La Muerte del Palomo", song made popular by Roc?o Durcan that in Yuridia's voice has a touch of something new and spectacular.

If you are tired of listening to singers who don't sing at all, or singers who have to shake their asses in order to caught our attention and try to hide their limitations behind a wall of technology; if you are one of those who waits months before buying a CD because, most of the time, only one of the song is worth listening and the others are just junk, you should try Yuridia. On present time Yuridia is preparing her first CD with original songs. However this DVD, I declare, will be a historic item. It shows the beginnings of the Mexican singer destined to become the greatest revelation, at least, of the present decade.


Yuridia Gaxiola, segundo lugar del reality show de M?xico, La Academia, ha roto todos los records de venta con su CD "La voz de un ?ngel" para una nueva artista en M?xico. Este DVD registra su evoluci?n a trav?s de 22 presentaciones durante un lapso de algo as? como cuatro meses. La vemos t?mida e insegura en su primera presentaci?n cantando "Lento", una canci?n de Julieta Venegas, pero inclusive desde este primer video hay un magnetismo y carisma, que aunado a una excelente voz, hacen dif?cil quitarle la vista de encima. En uno de mis videos favoritos, Yuridia interpreta "?mame", una canci?n de Juan Carlos Calder?n, que le hacen recibir las mas c?lidas criticas de los jueces. Por supuesto, la canci?n que se convertir?a en un cl?sico de sus presentaciones es "?ngel", una canci?n original de Robin Williams, que en la voz de Yuridia tiene un toque de m?sica gospel, muy dif?cil de no gustar desde la primera vez que se escucha. Para alguien no familiar con la din?mica de la academia, encontrar? algunas cosas inexplicables en este DVD. Por ejemplo, vemos a Yuridia cantar "Lo siento mi amor" con l?grimas en su rostro. La explicaci?n es que momento antes, de sorpresa, recibe la visita de sus hermanitos que no hab?a visto por meses. No todo es perfecto en estas presentaciones. Debido al formato del show -los concursantes viven aislados en una casa por meses- a veces, vemos a Yuridia distra?da, se le olvidan a veces las letras, hasta un poco aburrida. Pero cuando la combinaci?n perfecta de su voz y canci?n coinciden, es dif?cil no estremecerse de emoci?n. Ver, por ejemplo, "La Muerte del Palomo", una canci?n hecha popular por Roc?o Durcan que en la voz de Yuridia tiene un toque nuevo y espectacular.

Si estas cansado de escuchar cantantes que no cantan, que tienen que mover el trasero para llamar la atenci?n, o que esconden sus limitaciones vocales bajo la generosa ayuda de la tecnolog?a; si t? eres de esos que pasan meses antes de comprar un CD, porqu?, si acaso, una canci?n es pasable, y las dem?s solo llenan el espacio, entonces deber?as de escuchar a Yuridia. Actualmente Yuridia prepara su primer CD con canciones originales. Sin embargo este DVD, me atrever?a a decir, va a convertirse en un objeto de colecci?n. Muestra los comienzos de una artista que esta destinada a convertirse en la m?xima revelaci?n art?stica mexicana, de por lo menos esta d?cada.
