Movie Reviews

Highly recommended - so so great
dtwood | USA | 12/15/2007

"My 23 month old received the whole Baby Einstein series as a baby shower gift and we were excited at the time. many months later we tossed one of the initial DVDs in the player and were curious, perplexed and ultimately, underwhelmed by the ambient scenes and non-interactive nature of the programs.

We received this set of Braincandy discs as a gift and decided to give the whole learning DVD thing another chance. thank goodness. my daughter took about 5 minutes before she was playing peek-a-boo with the on-screen kids and copying the animal noises. While the 'braincandy song' that reappears throughout the series and within the episodes becomes burned on your brain after a while... it is only because my daughter wants them first thing in the morning and the last thing before bath. Another refreshing element to the series is the "get up and dance" 3 minute segments that appear every 15-20 minutes or so. All in all, I like that these DVDs engage, educate, and facinate my daughter if and when I need 5mins to prepare a meal or get an email or two off. kudos to the braincandy team - any more in the works?

"Both my 18 month old and 3 year old were interested in this DVD. The music is very appealing (sort of a Carribean vibe) and the puppets are very cute. Anything that is educational and fun for the kids to watch all at once gets an A+ in my book."
Gets my kids engaged and talking

"My 22 month old twins love the whole Braincandy series and they are engaged when they watch it. I am impressed by the product because my kids not only listen intently but they also react to what they are watching. Sometimes they get up and dance when the kids in the video jump around dancing and they also seem to be learning some new vocabulary words too.

This video allows me to engage my kids in a safe and educational activity while I'm cooking dinner, which is no easy feat at the end of the day. It gives me piece of mind that I don't have to worry about little ones underfoot and busy little hands trying to reach something hot.

The whole series is great.
