Movie Reviews

Mick brings it all together

(5 out of 5 stars)

"As a new fan of Simply Red, and Mick Hucknall, I found this documentary most interesting. The forming of the band itself, the background and inspiration for the songs, the recording of same, was an eyeopener for me.The talent of the band members, and the creation, by Mick of some of my favorites i.e. For Your Babies, Stars, Your Mirror etc. just increased my appreciation for them. At my age (ancient) I never dreamed I would discover a singer-composer as talented as Mick Hucknall. I hope he would understand when I place him on the same plane as John Lennon. Different, but both extraordinarily talented and conscious of the inequities of their respective times. I would recommend this DVD to all who appreciate real talent. Christine"
