Movie Reviews

GREAT GROOVES!!!!! I'M DANCING!
MPR1196 | Seattle, WA | 08/26/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I totally love this DVD! They really show how to do grooves, not just some moves that you can only do to a specific music video. These are grooves you can make your own and go and dance any where with. That what I think makes this DVD series totally different from the rest. The moves are current and fun and the host and dancers are excellent dancers and also fun to watch. It goes slow enough and they turn around backwards to show you how to do it. LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! I am hooked on the Groovaloos!"

"I looked at the name (Groovaloos) and I looked at the cover -- and my gut told me not to get this DVD. I went against my gut and believed the reviews; I wish I'd listened to my gut. For those of you who think it looks and sounds a little hokey, you're right on the money. They can all dance, but compared to what I expected, they seemed mediocre. Here's the lowdown: (1) the sound sucks - they're in a city park and you can hear the instructions fine, but the music isn't loud enough to really "feel" something that makes you want to move, (2) they just seem like a group of people who don't naturally have a rhythm, but they've learned some moves; it's SO not inspiring, (3) it's not edgy enough, and (4) it looks good if you've got a group doing it, but when someone's doing it alone, it's just okay. Overall, this DVD was okay, but not great. Get it only if you're truly desperate."
BUY IT!

"I agree with others who say these tapes are among the best. This is what's hot right now, and these dvds are really good.

Recommended to anyone, with experience or not. You will learn some great stuff. And these dancers are funky!"

"With greatest regard for my fellow reviewers, I have to say I found this DVD quite useful. Having never danced a hip hop step in my life, and totally discouraged from my 3 dance lessons (the 'students' there seemed to have years of experence) I managed to garner a few moves within 1/2 hr. This dvd will not make you an expert but it gave me enough confidence to get back out there and learn more. As for the basic music. I actually found it helpful as you listen to the beat and concentrate on the moves rather than the latest artist playing in the background."
