Some common themes tanked what would have been an otherwise perfect rating. The middle did stall but the ending and beginning were strong.

Besides a decent score, the only part of this film that's commendable is Octavia Spencer's performance as a bruised, deranged woman out for vengeance. It was intense seeing her character's insanity unfold as the film went on. However, the other people in this story are really cringe-worthy to watch. With the exception of Juliette Lewis' character, I did not like any characters or victims in this film. You don't really feel any compassion for them - many of their choices are foolish and brainless. Many of the problems occur because they cling to their cell phones. So much unnecessary and annoying drama goes on. The progression of the story relies too much on situations of pure coincidence and occurrences that probably would never happen. This is a script that lacks in originality; we've seen this all before in horror films of the past. I recommend you skip this one.
