Movie Reviews

GREAT MONDO CLASSIC
ROBERT BLANKEN | PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA United States | 05/06/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Finally restored, Mondo Cane 2 is both grotesque and hilarious. There are the usual mondo staples that were considered very shocking in the 60's such as the mandatory lesbian club scene, that are very cornball now, but so what. Not as gory as some other classic mondos--such as Macabro (aka Tabu 2). Too bad the mondo genre was effectively destroyed by the ridiculous Faces of Death series. The most recently well made mondo that comes to mind is "RITUALS: Dances Sacred and Profane"---and that was a long time ago. Not for everyone, but MC 2 is a popcorn treat for those with a taste for the bizarre."
