Member Movie Reviews K. K. (GAMER) Reviewed on 7/31/2022... Don't let the slow start fool you. Based on a novel but feels like a true story, which it was not. Tom Hanks and Helena Zengel shine bright in this with a fantastic but gritty at times plotline. An absolute must watch! A real shame with the Hanks airport incident.  Gloria B. (glowbird) from SPOKANE, WA Reviewed on 9/2/2021... The film does a good job of portraying the poverty of the American west (post-Civil War), and the ignorance in the far reaches. It's kind of depressing. Although Hanks, as usual, brings some humanity to his role as traveling storyteller. By the end of the film I was totally invested in his personal story, and that of his young charge, and felt this was a fulfilling watch. 4 of 5 member(s) found this review helpful.
