This send up of Grindhouse genre films is surprisingly entertaining as it embraces its low budget and makes the most of well-written script. The ability to speak English by the actors is almost non-existent, but it doesn't really matter because the film was intended to be viewed by Spanish speakers who wouldn't know the difference when reading subtitles. Jose Ramallo is spot on with his characterization of the tough 70s detective out to avenge his partner after being called out of retirement as a Luchadore wrestler. Don't go into this one with any expectations of perfection, there are clearly anachronisms that make it evident the film is not a classic from the 70s. I certainly found myself laughing out loud at many scenes, which is more than I can say for most big budget "comedies" made in Hollywood. Also, fair warning that American political correctness does not apply in this film, which I'm sure played a role in the film's obscurity in the US.
