Being a leader in a Rehab program, I could see how this story would have a strong effect on some of our people that were having a tough time giving up their addictions. It did just that and brought one man to tears. The acting was good, even by the young boys.

It's been years since my family first watched this movie and we still quote some of the one liners almost daily. If you don't like "stupid", you won't like this. This is so dry that you almost miss the humor, but it is one of the funniest movies I've seen. I say that you have to be "smart" to see that this isn't really stupid. There are two lines I wish they had left out but other than that, I loved it.

The humor in this movie is so subtle that it took me awhile to catch on to it. I was busy doing other thingsfor the first half or so. By the end I was enjoying it emensely. I see that Pickwick wanted everyone to be happy and he was so pleased when it went his way. It was so cute when he was angered to the point of wanting to brandish his offender with blows. Now I am looking forward to watching it again while seated in front of the tv with a bowl of pop corn. It will take a few bowls as it is long. I liked it a lot.

The Soloist is a nice story...sometimes sad and sometimes beautiful. But the good thing is that the sad was not unfixable.
