Greetings all! Yesterday I began my journey on this site and have already had quite the experience to say the least. Within the first 3 hours of posting movies to my DVD Tower, I had already accumulated and shipped out 9 "requests" after spending about $40 on shipping. Now, on my second day, I have another 16 requests which is almost another $85. Now I have 3 credits, which should be enough for something on my Wishlist.

So, here is what I am getting at: When can I expect to receive something on my Wishlist? And in what order? I've read that rankings depend on availability and all. This seemed like such a cool community and service but I'm already having to part ways with over $120 in shipping costs in just 2 days! Yet nothing on my end. Just wanted to reach out to get some thoughts, tips, or whatever. I love the concept and everything but I just don't see this being viable much longer (only 2 days haha) as I'm already freaking out about the overall cost and lack of incentives.

You have a few options. You can check to see if dvd's are wl before you add them to your tower. You can add them to your tower on hold so they can't be requested yet and release them as you are ready to spend more on postage. Some members will post a wl dvd, see who it gets posted to and then check that person's WL to see if they have anything else the person wants. If you do, you can post those directly to their wl and if they accept, you can ship them all together to save on shipping . You can also list them in the bazaar in the Wish List Multiples thread and request that people order 2 or 3 at a time to save you on shipping.  

As far as having wishes granted, yes there is a system to the wish list. You rank them by how much you want them and you earn points toward having a wish granted based on where on your list the item is. Item #1 on your wl earns the most points, items #2 the next most. etc. You can watch items move up on the graph on your wish list. Other ways to get WL movies: You can try putting several different versions of the movie on your WL. You can also check other's lists in the WL Multiples thread in the DVD bazaar and see if any of the movies you want are offered there.

I recommend you put your shelf on vacation for a while, wait for some credits to come in and until you are able to spend some credits and receive some titles.   I'll also suggest you focus on finding some available posted titles you would like to request instead of relying on the wish list.   I'm reminded of similar post from a couple of years ago, see https://www.swapadvd.com/forum/topic.php?t=39671&l=25&ls=0#p417219
