I get this on an older laptop, it has Windows Vista.  I'm not positive if it's the Windows or the Internet Explorer version that's not compatible.  I may need to try loading a different browser.

Problem: can only type in the subject line and cannot type in the text box......... Try this: ..........do F12, click document mode standards, click Internet Explorer 9........ Then you should be able to type in the text box. ......... OR ...... F12, Alt 9 and then F12 again and I can type in the text boxes until the next time I log off......... Either way you have to do this every time you log off.

Well....while it didn't appear that anything happened at the time (and I couldn't find an option for clicking "document mode standards", Valerie, something I did while trying to do both of your ideas gave me a text box.  And I didn't have to repeat it when I closed and had to log in again.  Shrug.

I've never had this problem at Paperbackswap, but thank you for helping me here.

Becki, that is an "old fix" that I was not sure if it still worked.

I think my husband updated our computer so I don't have to F12 anymore.

Thank you - Valerie.  I will try that next time.

And......thank you Becki for asking the question.

Oh! I remember now!

I made that post before I could make spaces and use the return key.  I had to type in all those periods in an attempt to "space" things out.  Much better now that I can type "normally" on my iPad.
