Descent but not great! Not as scary as it could have been.

This movie was a let down for me. I love Emily Deschanel and Barry Watson but the storyline just wasn't great. I think the actors did the best they could with script they were given. It's sad that a movie that could have been, and should have been, a decent horror film just didn't deliver.

Meh, typical semi-entertaining but mostly boring "scary" movie. The only thing that made this movie worth watching is barry watson. The plot is kind of bland as well though.

Worst Horror Movie I've Ever Seen

(1 out of 5 stars)

"I have never seen a horror movie lamer than this one. If you want to get scared than watch Freddy Vs Jason or It or something, but if you want to see a stupid horror movie that isn't even scary, then by all means, watch this one. The only part I liked was the beginning, because it was actually kind of scary when the Boogeyman ate his father, but the rest is crap and not worth watching. Don't buy or watch it, just ignore it completely."
Pretty good cure for insomnia

"A young kid sees his father killed by the boogeyman. Years later he's in college and gets a message on his phone that his mother's health is failing. Could he come and visit her? He doesn't even bother responding to the message, it's much more important to him to go to a party with his girlfriend. Yeah, real sympathetic character. Then his mother dies and he surprisingly finds time to go to her funeral - what a guy! - and he's also inherited the house where he saw the boogeyman kill his father. So he wanders around the house for most of the movie. He's terrified of dark closets, so at one point he goes into a dark closet and they edit a whole bunch of shots together of him being in the closet, while dramatic music plays. Yawn. This crap goes on forever.

Overall, it's a boring movie and I didn't care at all about the characters. I give it 2 stars only because I've seen worse."
