I would love to give this a better rating, but the acting, writing & editing were horrible. I was really looking forward to watching this movie and came away very disappointed that the story wasn't told better. It stated at the beginning that over 400 women cross dressed & served in the Civil War. But it didn't explain if this story was based on someone who had done that.

This may be listed as a lesbian movie, but it hardly is - it's more like it's a lesbian lite movie. The movie dragged on (it's 115 minutes) it could have been made shorter - there were a lot of filler scenes that didn't serve a purpose.

It says on the back of the case 'Cold Mountain meets Broke Back Mountain'. However, I watched Broke Back Mountain & this is not even close to being as good as BBM.

It really is too bad that this movie wasn't written and acted better, it would have made for a great story & movie had it been.
