Help Center - What are the requirements for posting a DVD?

Search Terms:

The DVD must be original (not a copy) and must be in its original case (or the same type of case as the original) with all the original artwork.  The DVD must be 100% playable (minor scratches that do not affect the playability are acceptable).  Please make sure your DVDs and their cases are clean and free of any dirt, lint, liquid spills, pungent smells etc. The cover artwork needs to be in good condition without any rips or tears greater than 1/2".

All discs listed on the DVD description in the database must be included (if the listing says "2 discs" then 2 discs must be sent).

The UPC code must appear on the DVD(s) that are received--that means if the UPC appears only on the box that holds a set of DVDs, then the box must be sent with the DVD sets.  The requestor will be able to re-swap them ONLY if the discs she or he receives include the official UPC, printed by the manufacturer. The UPC must be easily legible. If the sender includes the "official" UPC that was on something attached to the item at some point (the cellophane, the paper band, etc.), we can also accept that as postable.

The item is only postable with a listing if it matches the format on that listing. (This means, for example,  that if the listing format is Blu-ray, the posted item must be a Blu-ray.) VHS format is not acceptable for posting in the official system.

Any extra items that are specifically mentioned in the DVD title on SwapaDVD must be shipped with the DVD. For example, the DVD "Shrek 3-D: Party in the Swamp [Fullscreen (P&S)] [Includes 4 Pairs of 3-D Glasses]" must be shipped with the 4 Pairs of 3-D Glasses. If the additional items are no longer available to be shipped, you may only offer your DVD in our Bazaar forum, explaining in your post that the extra item(s) are not included. The one exception to this rule is for DVDs with "Digital Copy" or "UV code" included in the title. We do not require the Digital Copy or UV code be sent with any DVD.

Burned DVDs or Promotional DVDs of any kind are NOT allowed

To post your DVD properly, the UPC code must be recognized in our database. We do not currently have a way to post by DVD title.  If the UPC code is not recognized in our database, check back, because updates are made often. You may also offer unpostable DVDs in the DVD Bazaar found in the Discussion Forums.

Blu Rays are permitted (and they swap for 2 credits per disc); they must be Region A, and all other stipulations above regarding DVDs also apply to Blu Ray discs.
