Movie Reviews

By far, one of my favorite skate videos.

"This video showcases the wonderful talents of the 2005 Almost Skate team. This is definitely a very entertaining and amazing movie to watch, but if you were a fan of the first two Rodney Mullen vs. Daewon Song movies, don't expect more of the same. The two skaters have diverged from the ultratechnical showcases of their first two movies and you can tell that they are actually doing the things that they consider the most FUN. This is nice to see as it appears that they are showing that they have nothing more to prove, and just want to have a good time and document it on video. Nonetheless, they still end up doing amazingly technical things that will not cease to amaze you for some time.

Other members of the team definitely add to the value of this video. The other skaters featured on the video are by no means just filling time. Ryan Sheckler goes BIG!! I've never seen anyone accomplish so much at such a young age in the sport of skateboarding. It was wonderful seeing his progression from a little kid to a bigger little kid that goes even BIGGER! He is really just fun to follow and you'll be impressed at some of the crazy things he does in this movie. Chris Haslam has a refreshing style and flow that makes his skating very enjoyable to watch. His odd trick selection and unique flow convey a sense of his true passion for skating.

Overall, this movie is just plain fun to watch. It's definitely worth picking up for the skater and non-skater alike. Ultimately, this video succeeds in conveying just how much fun skating can be, which is ultimately what skating is all about..."

"This is a great and fun video featuring the almost team. Chris Haslam has my favorite part with his amazing tech and weird tricks from his kickflip one footed nosemanuals, lipslide to bigspin out or even a one footed handrail grind. Cooper Wilt and Greg Lutzka have solid parts. Rodney Mullen and Daweon Song have the big parts against eachother. The skating is definately amazing and technical. Rodney mullen has a fun part with a whole bunch of different spots and tricks and Daewon comes through with crazy combos. I hate to say it but somehow the two parts get a little redundant. I love both the guys' skating but Daweon's part seems to get a bit repetitive with constant flip/manual action. I like Daweon's Skate More part better and even Rodney's Opinion part seems a little more exciting. Overall it is a great video with a few fun extras."
It's all about Rodney and Daewon

"My favorite part of this video was Rodney Mullen's and Daewon Song's part. Chris Haslem has a really good part to but he's a little sloppy with his tricks. Ryan Sheckler had a huge backside flip and a gigantic ollie off of two diffrent roofs, but otherwise his part wasn't to great. Greg Lutzka did a lot of smooth skating in his part but never really whipped out any awesome tricks.

Basicly, it's all about Rodney and Daewon. This video was okay, but its not the best."
