Movie Reviews

Praise RUSCICO!
Richard C. Lynn | Portland, OR USA | 01/31/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"A 1928 science-fiction/fairy-tale, dear to generations of Russians, was brought with loving care to their cinemas in 1961 and attracted lines of adoring fans, which spanned blocks at the box offices.More than 4 decades later, the Russian Cinema Council through Image Entertainment, presents a DVD so stunning in color, clarity and crisp stereophonic sound that you can't help but beileve this is what it was like on the big screen!I recommend this very highly for what it is; a sensitive love story with many twists and complex characters. Don't be misled by the title, this is not a Russian Creature from the Black Lagoon.Praise RUSCICO for a dvd (great extras included) made with the same great care that was used in the making of the film."
