One of the Best $20 music DVD purchases you'll make
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I'm 27 and if you look at my music-DVD collection you would laugh...Metallica, Sinatra, Dave Matthews, Barry Manilow. Buy this disc. Even if you dont wnt to necessarily watch the DVD, you can put on the DVD, shut off the TV, and listen to one of the best Barry discs you will ever hear. Every song you want to hear from Barry is on this disc, and its in DTS format for superior sound quality to CD (I am assuming you have a HT set-up at home). Remember the first time you heard a CD and you were outright amazed at the difference in sound quality compared to tapes? You'll have the same feeling about DVD compared to CD after hearing this. Even without the center channel the sound is far superior. The fact that he plays with a real live full orchestra as compared to other shows he does where they are just taped tracks that he basically sings over is another reason to buy this DVD. The sound quality is just great. All in all, this is a must buy for anyone who remotely likes Manilow. He plays all his classics (every one), a few new songs, and does justice to 3 Sinatra songs on this DVD."
Barry Manilow: Manilow Live!
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This concert performance by Barry Manilow was recorded at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) in February 2000, and he is accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra. He sings many of his greatest hits including "Could It Be Magic?", "Mandy", "Weekend In New England", "One Voice" and "Copacabana" There is also a tribute to Frank Sinatra which was a real crowd pleaser as well as two songs from the musical HARMONY. Barry's diverse musical style shines in this performance, and the excitement of the audience is also captured with several standing ovations! I would recommend this concert very highly."
Almost like being there!

"I have been attending Barry Manilow concerts for his entire career. It's been an wonderful experience watching Barry evolve and mature over the years.I've always felt Barry is at his best with a full orchestra as he is in this performance. Turn the lights down in the room while you're watching this concert and you can almost feel like you're there. Barry's showmanship is superb in this concert. His rapport with the audience gets better and better over the years. His fans love when he calls someone from the audience onstage to sing a duet with him on "Can't Smile Without You". The fan he chose for this concert displayed so much exuberance! She was a good representation of what all of his longtime fans feel.My only disappointment was that he did not have his very talented backup singer Debra Byrd along for this one. However, Barry is at a point in his career that he no longer needs to share the stage with anyone. I am reviewing this DVD after just coming back from seeing him in person on his 2002 tour. As a die-hard Barry fan, it's difficult to compare the two concerts. They are very different.MANILOW LIVE is a hard DVD to top. Barry's talent, his love of music, and his deep respect for other musicians leaps from the stage and touches your soul. Enjoy!"
