Movie Reviews

A very good addition

"Although not the best, I did thoroughly enjoy watching and listening to "Journey To The Sky". The only reason I gave this particular one 4 stars is because a few of the gospel greats, like Rex Nelon, J.D. Sumner, Bob Cain, and my own hero Glen Payne have passed away. Other than this, it was an excellent homecoming.
The main focuses of the songs on this video are of heaven and just how wonderful it will be there. I was saved about a year ago, and I find that most these songs are very uplifting and spiritually touching. Some that stand out are "My Journey To The Sky" by Ivan Parker, "Joshua Led God's Children", "Glory, Glory, Clear The Road" by the Old Friends Quartet, "Clouds" by the Happy Goodmans, and "Boots Randolph Medley" by Boots Randolph. I promise you this--"He's Alive" by Don Fransisco will give you chills (in a good way, trust me).
Overall I think that this is a very good video when it comes to imagining heaven. Though many of the greats have gone, this video will remind you that they are in a much better place, still singing better than ever before."

"Journey to the Sky was a delightful program of old hymns and readings. The performers did their songs with such sensitivity and beauty that one could almost imagine Heaven. Few DVDs capture the beauty of Christian music as does this one.
I recommend it to all who grew up in Chrisian homes and to all who love the old hymns and the old faith."
Good to have

"A friend let me watch her Journery to the Sky, and because of two songs, I bought it. These were O Love that Will not Let Me Go, by David Phelps, and (the other:"eternal/supernal") The Love of God. There are other songs I like, however. Sarah DeLane and others do Because I Love Him, and it is precious. Just Enough Clouds is beautiful. Clouds by the Goodmans was nice to hear. Alicia Williamson is such a beautiful singer, and once again she gives all she has, and that is good. I like most of the songs, and I have played it many times, but I do often skip Glory Glory, Clear the Road. The guys are great, and I like them a lot, all four of them, but the song is not my choice. He's Alive is a classic. It is a good DVD."
