(5 out of 5 stars)

"The first two seasons provide character background and allow the viewer to gradually develop an affinity for the show's primary characters. By the third season ( episodes don't seem as dark as the first two seasons) the viewer is truly hooked on the show. As personal relationships develop among the characters, the show continues to improve each season, and the collection of Seasons 1-5 is very enjoyable."

"now don't get me wrong, i really do like this show a lot. however, the reason i give this show 4 stars rather that a full 5 is because the one thing that kind of gets under my skin about it, is because after seeing episode after episode, season after season, i don't think i've ever seen an episode to where there's rain, cold, or snow. i could be wrong, but i've watched this show long enough to know and see about the weather incruments about this show. look, the ny area is'nt allways a nice hot sun shiny day. it has it's fair share of all the weather incruments too. maybe for some people who is'nt from the area or never visited it before would probably buy into what is being portrayed on the show. but for me being a native of that particular area, and as much as i love to do my researches about areas "in general" i know better than that. what'sbeing portrayed on the show, is'nt new york... and no matter whatever place they use to actually film it, movie studios, etc. they should still make it look and seem realistic to the actual place itself. in all aspects!!!!"
