Movie Reviews

*NO PUPPETS!* Great collection of episodes
A. J. Dabaie | Ohio USA | 09/09/2009

"There are NO puppets in this dvd. :-) ...(In earlier dvds with Caillou, they had annoying puppets interrupting the episodes). This one (and multiple others are Puppet FREE.... just straight Caillou episodes).
Here is a list of the dvd's I've bought that are ALL puppet free.
Caillou: Winter Wonders
Caillou: Caillou's Family Favorites
Caillou: Caillou's Playschool Adventures
Caillou: Caillou the Creative
Caillou's Holiday Movie
My 2-year old daughter LOVES Caillou. It's nice to have the dvd's that are straight cartoon episodes with no iterruptions. I think Winter Wonders & Family Favorites have really cute episodes. Caillou dancing with his Grandma was really cute. But these are ALL just darling and all keep my 2-year old interested."
Recycled material

"I pre-ordered this item and looked forward to new Caillou cartoons. On the back of our previous Caillou videos, they all describe the product as a "compilation of 4 new Caillou episodes." However, this new version describes its contents as "4 Caillou episodes." That is because they recycle material from previous videos. There is some new content, but they shouldn't recycle any old material. I do not recommend purchasing this video."

"Great movie. Perfect length to keep the interest of my 3 yr.old. This movie was just another one added to our already great collection of Caillou movies. I definately reccommend this for toddler thru pre-k. Although, my older son will also sit and watch this too, at times."
Wonderful entertainment/messages

"My 3 boys (one 3 Y-O and two 21 month-old) are already familiar with Calliou through the Sprout/PBS Channels and they love it. My husband and I purchased this DVD in anticipation of them having earlier bedtimes and not being able to see Calliou in the evenings. It's a few of the old favorite episodes with some new ones thrown in, and we appreciate the values highlighted in each epsiode. We use Calliou's situations with family and friends as discussion points for appropriate and inappropriate behaviors and actions. The shows are well-written and light-hearted, but realistic.

The only thing that I wish the DVD had was rolling credits after each episode, but for selfish reasons - the credits are how my children know the episode is over! :-)

PBS has really scored with this series and I would definitely recommend this to parents of toddlers/preschoolers."
